Let us tell you more about this edition

Takashi Murakami (b. 1962) is a leading contemporary Japanese artist and one favourite amongst international collectors. His distinctive works, successfully combining traditional Japanese imagery with pop culture, are characterised by bright manga-like graphics and colourful cartoon subjects. Flat and two-dimensional, this style has been termed “super flat” by the artist himself.

"My aesthetic sense was formed at a young age by what surrounded me: the narrow residential spaces of Japan and the mental escapes from those spaces that took the forms of manga and anime." — Takashi Murakami

Murakami’s creative process involves sketching a design, scanning it onto computers and silk-screening it onto canvas before it is finally printed. Poporoke Forest is an offset lithograph in colours on smooth wove paper, from an edition of 300 pieces, featuring one of the artist´s signature motifs, playful smiling flowers, and a colourful and pop aesthetic.
