Bernar Venet is a conceptual artist best known for his resourcefulness in a variety of media including drawing, paintings, prints, sculpture, installations, design, music and musical composition, and for his wide range of expression. In the middle of the 1970ies he made the line the central subject of his work. In “Effondrement: Arcs IV” the artist continues his lifelong exploration of the line and the material. The arc, placed onto a white background, transcends its material boundaries.
