Osiris | Etchings-Brian Eno-1

Eno’s current body of work includes light boxes, etchings and lenticular printing as well as sculptural and sound works.

In an essay for Eno’s “Light Music” book, Michael Bracewell describes his art as “a space for the contemplation of individual experience”, where one is “encouraged to engage with a sensory/aesthetic experience that reflects the ever-changing moods and randomness of life itself”.

Recognised for their therapeutic contemplative benefits, Eno's light paintings have been commissioned for specially dedicated places of reflection, including sanctuary rooms and hospitals.

The set of 9 “Etchings” is an emblematic example of Eno’s meditative artistic style, whereby a single non-figurative object is transported into different color environments, the layers repetitively applied as to create seamless nuances. Each of the 9 pieces is 65,5 x 65,5cm.

I’ve been trying to slow music down so it became more like painting, and to animate paintings so that they became more like music…in the hope that the two would fuse in the middle.
