Nong Nooch-Damien Hirst-1

Revisiting Damien Hirs's Visual Candy paintings series which he created in the 1990s, these works act as a continuation of the artist's fondness of colour. In 2018 Hirst started a new gestural body of work, titled the Veil Paintings which have been translated into limited fine-art editions. Referencing both Impressionism, Pointillism, and Abstract Expressionism, in the Veil Paintings one notices the rich and heavy impasto, the brushstrokes that trace the artist’s movement on the surface.

“ A veil is a barrier, a curtain between two things, something that you can look at and pass through, it’s solid yet invisible and reveals and yet obscures the truth, the thing that we are searching for. „
