Victor Vasarely was a French-Hungarian artist credited as the grandfather and leader of the Op Art movement. Utilizing geometric shapes and colorful graphics, the artist created compelling illusions of spatial depth. Known for using disorienting effects to often create optical illusions and impossible images to the human eye, he is one of the most important artists of the 20th century and he influenced many modern artists with his highly innovative approach to color and optical illusion.
