Known for its exclusive selection of contemporary artworks, art and investment advisory, the Weng Contemporary brand has experienced a thrilling momentum characterised by the consolidation of its team and the opening of its new showroom in the charming Old Town of the city of Zug.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The inauguration was held in Aegeristrasse’s beautiful historic villa - the brand new Weng Contemporary showroom venue - and accommodated more than 50 guests, who were invited to stroll around the several exhibition rooms while enjoying an aperitivo.&nbsp;The cheerful and sophisticated atmosphere was enhanced by drinks,&nbsp;amuse-bouche&nbsp;and upbeat lounge music by a local DJ and contributed to a relaxed yet sophisticated networking dynamic. Attendees took advantage of the lively experience to rate the exhibited artworks, ask questions about incoming projects and enjoy the crisp autumn weather on the outside terrace.&nbsp;

The inauguration of the showroom marks the beginning of a new era for Weng Contemporary, as it stands as a symbol of openness and encounter between people and art. With the new space now officially launched, private views, visits, networking and client-advisory sessions are organised on a weekly basis. These reunions participate in transforming the location into a creative hub where creative and driven minds work to blend frontiers between art market, design, digitalization, finance and entrepreneurship.

At the centre of this concept are in-person interactions and the opportunity to showcase the best of Weng Contemporary’s collection, together with the newest releases (many scheduled for the months to come): “L’Ours Pompon” by the Estates of Yves Klein and François Pompon and El Anatsui’s latest projects “Striped Flags” and “Metal Cloth”, among others.

I would not imagine that watches and art can be so approachable. I learned a lot about both markets during the event.

Known as the power artists duo, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, created ephemeral environmental installations in urban and rural global locations.

Christo and Jeanne-Claude (respectively, born June 13, 1935, Bulgaria—died May 31, 2020, New York, U.S.; born June 13, 1935, Morocco—died November 18, 2009, New York, U.S.) stand out for their environmental and sometimes controversial temporary outdoor installations, most notably the wrapping of world-famous architectonic icons like the “Wrapped Reichstag, Berlin”, 1995 or the project "The Gates, New York", which consists of over 7'503 steel gates with orange coloured fabric stretched acres 37 km of walkaway in Central Park.
After Jeanne-Claude´s passing in 2009, Christo continued to carry out the couple’s proposed projects: “Big Air Package”, 2013 inflating an immense fabric dome within the cavernous Gasometer Oberhausen in Germany. As well as “The Floating Piers”, 2016 connecting two islands in Lake Iseo in Italy. These monumental works were seen not only by those that would visit the installations but also by passers-by. These works confront observers not only with its aesthetic properties but explore environmental, democratic, and humanist questions and it creating new ways of seeing familiar landscapes.

Among the various man-made and nature's creations, wrapping bridges has always been an important subject that Christo, but also together with wife and artist-collaborator Jeanne-Claude, marked the foundation of their most celebrated series (as Christo and Jeanne-Claude). Wrapping the Ponte Sant'Angelo has been a dream of the artist(s), as it is the oldest bridge in Rome and it also connects the Vatican with the city of Rome. Since their proposition submission to proceed with the installation in 1967, this project remains unrealized.

And for every project, because it takes years, you can see the early drawings and collages as just a simple, vague idea, and through the years and through the negotiations of getting the permit, you see that every detail is now clarified.

Exploring the opportunities of wrapping a built-environment, the artist(s) offers the possibility to review it by applying a new appreciation of its form and volumetric qualities. Creating a layer of abstraction to a figurative and real environment. By applying fantasy to a real occasion, at a gigantic scale, the artist(s) puts the viewer at once in a life-time experience to unravel the metamorphoses of an object.

At Weng Contemporary, we are thrilled to have hosted an incredible evening featuring artworks from some of the most renowned artists of our time. The event was a showcase of their creativity, talent, and unique perspectives, which we were honored to present to our discerning clientele.&nbsp;We had the pleasure of showcasing beautiful works such as The Empresses by Damien Hirst, a series of five glamorous prints, as well as the iconic Balloon Animals by Jeff Koons.

A genuine star of the Young British Artists (YBA) movement, Damien Hirst has always made a point of mixing up different media. Damien Hirst’s, For the Love of God, the diamond-encrusted replica of the skull of a thirty-five-year-old man from the thirteenth century, broke all records to become the most expensive contemporary artwork in the world. Damien Hirst´s artworks are truly emblematic icons of our era, with their recurring motives such as dots, butterflies, cows, sharks, skulls, pills, and pharmacy cabinets. His works, captivating and intense as they are, challenge our stereotyped concepts and beliefs. Damien Hirst’s shark, suspended in formaldehyde, The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living (1991), is widely recognized, as are his real butterflies suspended in paint or thousands of butterfly wings arranged in a mandala-like pattern – the famous Damien Hirst butterfly paintings. Since 1986 he has been producing the Spot paintings (sometimes called Dot Paintings), a series of paintings with evocative pharmacological titles, which display lines of colored spots. Damien Hirst´s Spot paintings and his Spin paintings became iconic series. Inspired by such diverse themes as life, death, art, science, and medicine, Damien Hirst’s art takes a direct and challenging approach to ideas about existence. The energy and inventiveness are also to be found in Damien Hirst's prints, which continue to stir controversy within the viewer with the same intensity.

Damien Hirst, a poster boy for the Young British Artists who rose to prominence in late 1980s London, is one of the most notorious artists of his generation.

Extraordinarily complex and dynamic, Theodora is named for the great Byzantine empress who used her intelligence and savvy to create lasting change in the empire. Born into the lowest class of Byzantine society, Theodora (497-548 CE) rose to power in 527 CE following her marriage to Emperor Justinian. She left a significant impact on the region, namely through implementing new religious and social policies. Indeed, Theodora’s power over the empire left many to wonder if it was her and not Justinian that ruled.  

In Theodora various hues of red and black butterfly wings assemble into an intriguing asymmetrical pattern, the only of its kind from the series. The composition is defined by lines of glittering red, noticeable only at proximity, which symmetrically sections the print horizontally into thirds and vertically in half, as well as establishes a circle in the upper half of the print.

The lower horizontal band, the circle and the vertical line are the most prominent, creating a formation reminiscent of the female gender symbol. Such recalls some of Theodora’s landmark policies that benefited women, including prohibiting the trafficking of girls and amending divorce laws to give women more rights. With the wings arranged in pairs or singularly across the work, Theodora stands out for its degree of organised chaos. The result of the carefully composed asymmetrical composition is the visual sensation that these wings are not lifeless specimens arranged for the viewer’s aesthetic pleasure but insects vibrating with life, captured zooming across (and perceivably beyond) the picture plane.

Pharmaceuticals draws inspiration from Hirst's 2004 New York exhibition "The Elusive Truth", which focused on larger-than-life, hand painted tablets, which were meticulously showcased and ordered in a cold-lit window.

The sterile, stainless steel wall-mounted medicine cabinet appears almost as an altar. Praising modern pharmaceuticals and highlighting society's obsession with drugs, the cabinet shows how medicine and science seem to have replaced society ‘s faith in God. While Damien Hirsts’ pills and caps are colourful and alluring, the uncanniness is present. The juxtoposed symbols of toxicity and antidotes suggest human struggle between life and death, desire and fear.

I just made these 5 mega red glitter prints! I thought the idea was good but seeing them now, real, they feel like they are unlocking the unfathomable mysteries of the universe. I don’t know why they are so good but they are... They feel powerful and important. I called them “The Empresses” and named them after five famous female rulers (...) I love art and it’s uplifting qualities and how can these not make you feel good? I love it when an idea explodes and becomes more than the sum of its parts.

Since the beginning&nbsp;of his career, Hirst has interacted with the butterfly, one of his best-known motifs. Inspired by a chance encounter in his studio and the intricate patterns found on Victorian tea trays, in&nbsp;The Empresses Hirst develops on the complex compositions he invented in&nbsp;his&nbsp;Kaleidoscope Paintings&nbsp;and&nbsp;Mandalas series.&nbsp;The Empresses prints are symmetrical, asymmetrical, and spiral patterns of meticulously organised butterflies that nonetheless exude hope and life – the butterflies feel as if they are taking flight. This effect is in part aided by the material,&nbsp;laminated Giclée print on aluminium composite, screen printed with diamond dust, which allows the butterfly wings to be&nbsp;presented in such detail that they appear lifelike.&nbsp;

The images of wings inspire awe and are framed by diamond dust, a fantastically tactile material previously used by Hirst in his paintings. Diamond dust is loved for its playfulness and joy – a sentiment echoed in the play-on-words of the series title itself, which alludes to both female rulers and the Empress Butterfly. Hirst has consistently used butterflies for their associations to freedom, religion, life and death.&nbsp;The Empresses&nbsp;illuminates and sheds light on these themes. Through this new series, these themes become intertwined with glory, female power and the development of nations, visible through the entrancing twists and turns of these five dazzling and vital visual celebrations.

I see butterflies as souls and part of a wider visual language. I've always described them as universal triggers; everyone loves them because of their incredible abstract fragility and beauty. It's an interesting example of how we use nature to try and express the inexpressible: love, desire, belief and the eternal.

In the very beginning of my Spot Painting career I made some messy spots and I hated them, so I perfected them into perfect dots and for 25 years, I made perfect dots. At the very end, I went back to the messy dots and made two or three. I really like them! (...) They are not a print but they look like a print.

Mouths are planted&nbsp; from The Currency, the first NFT series by Damien Hirst.&nbsp;</h3>Damien Hirst’s Spot Paintings remain one of the most recognizable motifs in contemporary art, known for their perfect circles in a grid format.&nbsp;The works of The Currency evolved from this exploration, with the spots appearing like particles or atoms. The Currency marries one of Hirst’s most generative bodies of work to his lifelong fascination for technology and materiality.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Ever disrupting art world conventions, the artist's use of NFTs is an important development in his ongoing interest in notions of ownership and collecting. The Currency challenges the concept of value through money and art. Each of the unique 10,000 hand painted works were launched in July 2021 as NFTs on the blockchain. There is a possibility to exchange the physical work and burn its NFT correspondent until July 2022. By the beginning of April 2022, only 750 physical works (7.5%) have been redeemed and the rest of the editions remain as NFTs.

<h3>Same as other currencies, but different</h3>Similar to other forms of currency, anti-counterfeiting measures are employed to ensure authenticity. Each work of The Currency has several measures that safeguard the authenticity, both of the physical artwork and the digital NFT. The paper is hand made and is cut manually, producing spontaneous imperfections and asymmetries. Each unique artwork is numbered, titled, stamped with the Hirst logo and signed by the artist on the back. Additional authenticity features include a watermark of Damien Hirst’s head taken from his sculpture called The Collector where the artists poses as Henry VIII, a microdot and a hologram containing a portrait of the artist.

<h3>&nbsp;</h3><h3>Rarities</h3>Using a machine learning algorithm, all of the different identifying features of each work have been analysed and ranked out of 10,000. These features, also known as “rarities” are defined by overlaps, drips, texture, density, weight, colours, word and characters. From the amount of drips and splashes, to the texture of the paint, each artwork has a unique combination of ranked features. 4193. Mouths are planted has a weight score (amount of grams) of 19.23&nbsp; ranking it 5,863 out of 10,000 and a density score of 0.50 (out of 1) ranking it at 5,363. This means that 5,862 artworks of The Currency are lighter and 4137 are heavier. Similarly, 4,637 artworks in the series have more density. The thickness and texture of the paint, the amount of spots and their vicinity to each other impact the uniqueness of each artwork. 4193. Mouths are planted offers a uniform overall rarity score making this piece an expectational illustration of The Currency project.

The Currency is an artwork, and anyone who buys it will participate in this work, it’s not just about owning it… The whole project is an experience in belief… It is the most exciting project I have ever worked on by far.

<h3>10,000 Unique Artworks</h3>Each artwork is uniquely titled and numbered (1-10,000). The titles are generated from machine learning applied to some of the artist's favourite song lyrics. Influenced by the Catholic symbolism of his upbringing, Damien Hirst’s oeuvre explores the relationship between science, faith and art as systems of belief. 4193. Mouths are planted particularly resonates with The Book of Jeremiah, 12:2 “You plant them, and they take root; they grow and bear fruit. ‘You are near to us,’ they say with their mouths,” providing&nbsp; another level of complexity and depth to this unique artwork.

Damien Hirst’s "Spot Paintings" remain one of the most recognizable motifs in contemporary art, known for their perfect circles in a grid format. Since its first iteration in 1986, the series has seen many variations, but it wasn’t until 2016 that Hirst dispensed the rules for his "Colour Space" paintings, and allowed the work to become more organic. The works of The Currency evolved from this exploration, with the spots appearing like particles or atoms. It marries one of Hirst’s most generative bodies of work to his lifelong fascination for technology and materiality. Ever disrupting art world conventions, the artist's use of NFTs is an important development in his ongoing interest in notions of ownership and collecting. "The Currency" challenges the concept of value through money and art. Each of the unique 10,000 hand painted works were launched in July 2021 as NFTs on the blockchain. There is a possibility to exchange the physical work and burn its NFT correspondent until July 2022. By the end of March 2022, only 700 physical works (7 %) have been redeemed and the rest of the editions remain as NFTs. Each artwork is uniquely titled and numbered (1-10,000).

The highly anticipated freestanding Balloon Dog (Blue) is one of the most iconic works of the 21st century and as Jeff Koons himself has called it the "Trojan horse“ of the Celebration series. A reproduction of the larger sculpture of the Balloon Dog from the Celebration series, as conceived in five unique colours (beginning with the creation of the Blue, Magenta, Yellow, Orange, and Red) starting production in 1994 and completing them in 2000.&nbsp;

I wanted to make something that would be more accessible to people because the stainless pieces weigh two-and-a-half tones, so it's difficult for the average person to have space for them. I wanted to maintain the relevance and the profoundness of the idea and to put it in a form that would communicate its reason for being.

The Balloon Dog (Blue) requires 60 people for the production of each work and it takes a full month to complete one. Its creation combines traditional porcelain decoration techniques with new technologies which are not typically applied to ceramics, this combination allows to achieve the metallic and reflective characteristics.&nbsp;Each edition is signed on the inside front right leg and the signature is applied on top on the porcelain and fired in the oven.

With this technically challenging edition, Koons stretched the capabilities of the Limoges porcelain practice for this limited edition. Characteristic of his works, they share a deliberate mirroring effect of its environment, and that of the viewer - one cannot see the artwork without seeing oneself, and as the artist has said, "If you don't move nothing happens."

One of the things that I’m most proud of is making work that lets viewers not feel intimidated by art, but feel that they can emotionally participate in it through their senses and their intellect and be fully engaged.

Jeff Koons (born 1955) playfully tests the boundaries of commerce, celebrity, banality, and pleasure. He rose to prominence in the mid-1980s as part of a generation of artists who explored the meaning of art in a media-saturated era. Koons turns banal commercial or everyday objects into art icons by using seductive materials, a shift of scale, and a contextual displacement. Jeff Koons’s “Balloon Dog” (featuring his enormous iconic chromium stainless steel dogs); his large-scale vinyl “Inflatables”; or the giant “Split-Rocker” all follow this principle. For instance, Jeff Koons in “Puppy” engaged the past and the present, referencing the eighteenth-century formal garden, while adding the most sugary of iconography. Originally licensed as a commodities broker, Koons decided to become an artist in the late 1970s and moved from Wall Street into a factory-like studio in SoHo with hundreds of assistants. Since then, he has produced different iconic series, like the “Pre-New”, a series of domestic objects in strange new configurations, and “The Equilibrium” series, consisting of basketballs floating in distilled water tanks. The “Banality” series, which includes Jeff Koons´s “Michael Jackson and Bubbles” and “Woman in Tub”, among others, is characterized by oddly eroticized, comic, and kitsch images. However, it is indeed Koons’s “Made in Heaven” series that is his most provocative and controversial work, in which he examines the place of sexuality in visual culture. Koons is widely regarded as one of the most important, influential, and controversial contemporary artists. He constantly tests the boundaries between art and commerce, high culture and mass culture, ready-made and art objects, by decontextualizing his objects and lifting them to iconic status. Jeff Koons´s art is the result of his intention to bring it out of the enclave of the genius-driven artist into the realms of contemporary pop and commerce-driven culture.

We are thrilled to share with you the final destination from a recent project in collaboration with a prominent interior designer studio from Brazil, which was done in mind for a private collector in Bal Harbour, Florida. It is always a special moment in our daily operation when we receive pictures from our clients.&nbsp;Even though the editions are multiple, the installation in each home is unique. We hope you can find some inspiration and a little motivation to further enhance your daily space — be it&nbsp;your home or working space.

The black dress has been a recurrent theme in Alex Katz's work since the very beginning. The theme of the edition goes back to one of his most iconic early paintings, which is indeed titled “Black Dress”, created in 1960 and depicting 6 different perspectives of a woman; his wife and muse Ada, wearing a classic cut little black dress, very similar to the one featured in the iconic movie Breakfast at Tiffany.&nbsp;Calvin Klein said: "Alex Katz’s Black Dress series is just as modern and wonderful. And, ironically it has nothing to do with fashion. His portrait have such strong color fields and clean lines. And despite their apparent simplicity, they’re extremely expressive and perfectly capture the essence of his subjects. You can’t help but notice these women, these beautiful enigmas drawn in bold and certain strokes. You wonder who they are, how they live, what they feel, just exactly what they have going on."

Following with White Roses (image above) which is also by Alex Katz. This work is part of the famous flower painting series by the American artist. Katz has been painting flowers since the 1960s, often during his summer residencies in Maine. The cropped, flattened composition displays a debt to Japanese woodblock art printing. The American artist is well-known for his large works, whose bold and simple use of&nbsp;colours are now seen as precursors of Pop Art.Katz’s flower themes are inspired by everyday motifs and are among the most favourite subjects of the artist within the theme of nature. In a 1968 interview, Katz described his works of flowers as an extension of the cocktail party scenes he often painted. He remarked that the flowers are “all overlapping volumes” like the individuals in his figure groupings, which overlap one another as they advance into the painting’s pictorial space. However, by selecting flowers as a subject he sought to introduce a greater degree of movement in the work without literally representing something in motion, thus focusing on the unfolding form of a rose bud.&nbsp;

Katz uses a physically poetic language—similar to dance—in his work, allowing the viewer to adapt that structure to his or her own frame of mind and emotional bearing. Light and form provide an unexpected syncopation of movement across the surface of his paintings of flowers. Painted rapidly and assuredly, wet into wet, the flowers oscillate between states of awkwardness and grace typically associated with the human body. Katz’s roses, with their fleshy petals and serrated leaves, are aggressive and fierce, belying the congenial association that flowers typically summon.

I’ve got an obsession with death … But I think it’s like a celebration of life rather than something morbid.

The first butterfly work by the British artist Damien Hirst is based on the painting Idea leuconoe in Nerium oleander, which is from 2009 - 2010. The limited edition is however titled Paper Kite Butterfly on Oleander and comes form an 25 inkjet prints.&nbsp;Hirst began work on the Fact series in 2000. His goal with this series has always been to attempt to reproduce photographs exactly in complete, realistic detail through the traditional medium of oil on canvas. The paintings explore our relationship with imagery. Hirst explains: “I want you to believe in them in the same way as you believe in the&nbsp;Medicine Cabinets. I don’t want them to look clever, but to convince you. I’m using painting to produce something that looks like a bad quality reproduction – the painting process is hidden as it is in my work Hymn, which looks like plastic, but is bronze underneath.”

The ‘Kaleidoscope’ works reference the spiritual symbolism of the butterfly, used by the Greeks to depict Psyche, the soul, and in Christian imagery to signify the resurrection. The works are reminiscent of, and even sometimes directly copy stained glass windows. Recalling someone once saying to Hirst: “Butterflies are beautiful, but it’s a shame they have disgusting hairy bodies in the middle,” Hirst chose to use only the iridescent wings in the ‘Kaleidoscope’ works, divorcing the butterflies from “the real thing”.

Koons first started working with the image of the Diamond in 1994 as part of his Celebration series. Thereafter, the Diamond became a vehicle for Koons to communicate and reflect upon the mass-made consumer products that are created for festivities. For the historic department house at Bahnhofstrasse 30 in Zurich, we are showing a solo presentation from the&nbsp;Walking bag&nbsp;series by&nbsp;Erwin Wurm, titled&nbsp;Tall bag YSL. Created out of bronze, this artwork permits outdoor installation under any weather conditions. As an artist, Wurm is interested in conditions that test the limits of form and evoke the absurdity that can be found in the routine and mundane actions of everyday life, such as&nbsp;by giving human appendages to luxury handbags.

I just see Monroe as just another person. As for whether it's symbolical to paint Monroe in such violent colors: it's beauty, and she's beautiful and if something's beautiful it's pretty colors, that's all.

The focal point of our presentation in Lausanne consists of nine Andy Warhol's Marilyn that grace the main wall. These works come from a limited edition of 49 and are made out of enamel on porcelain. A set of four pieces in matching edition numbers (ed. 35/49) are also available and presented as a desirable collectible.

Especially since the red diamonds are the rarest and most expensive, they are the most coveted.With this festive Diamond in red colour, Koons offers a reimagined iconography of the gemstone found in nature, which takes billions of years to form. He first started working with the image of the&nbsp;Diamond&nbsp;in 1994 as part of his Celebration series. Thereafter, the&nbsp;Diamond&nbsp;became a vehicle for Koons to communicate and reflect upon the mass-made consumer products that are created for festivities.

We are delighted to share with you our latest visionary and storytelling editorial celebrating the release of his limited art edition. Shot by the talented photographer Shkelzen Konxheli, who has recently shot for Vogue Arabia. Model and actress&nbsp;Zoë&nbsp;Pastelle graced the&nbsp;narrating&nbsp;role reflecting on Jeff Koons's festive&nbsp;Diamond (Red)&nbsp;limited art-edition. We are grateful to&nbsp;Bongénie&nbsp;Grieder for carefully selecting the clothing for this editorial, as well as to Nina Tatavitto for executing the hair and makeup.&nbsp;

The American artist stated: "I don´t care about money. I´m interested in people, human desire, and aspiration.” This is why it is presented in the company of four gleaming golden settings at its corners, embracing the gemstone from every angle to keep it safe and in place, as a warm motherly figure.&nbsp;

With this technically challenging edition, Koons stretched the capabilities of the Limoges porcelain practice for this limited edition. Characteristic of his works, they share a deliberate mirroring effect of its environment, and that of the viewer - one cannot see the artwork without seeing oneself. and as the artist has said, "If you don't move nothing happens."

The Celebration series marks the commercialization of birthdays, holidays, Valentine's Day, and Easter. They act as the vehicle for Koons to reflect upon the massmade consumer products that are created for celebrating these festivities. This body of work occupies not only a seminal place in Koons’s artistic oeuvre, but also in his personal life; his notorious marriage to Illona Staller (Cicciolina), the birth of their son, followed by an abrupt divorce.

Similarly to the original and monumental sculpture of the Diamond, 1994-2005; measuring more than 2 meters wide and created in five unique colour versions of Green, Pink, Blue, Yellow, Red, the porcelain limited fine-art edition shares a highly polished chromium surface that reflects light, but does not refract it in the same way as a real diamond, where light travels through the precious gemstone´s 58 cuts. Characteristic of Koons´s artworks, they share a deliberate mirroring effect of its environment, the surroundings, and that of the viewer(s) - one cannot see the artwork without seeing oneself.

It’s not about bling, but it’s about the moment of creation. The posts on the sides of the diamond represent male energy, and the diamond is an egg. The stone is attached to a ring by four prongs. For me, the prongs are like sperm attacking an ovum, in the process of being fertilized. That represents the truest narrative we have of human history, which are our genes and our DNA.

Jeff Koons, the world's most expensive artist, rose to prominence in the mid-1980s as part of a generation of artists who explored the meaning of art in a media-saturated era. Koons turns banal commercial or everyday objects into art icons by using seductive materials, a shift of scale and a contextual displacement.

His highly acclaimed Celebration series, started in the early 1990s, evoking with its large-scale motifs of balloon animals. The iconic forms of the balloon animals – dog, swan, rabbit and monkey – have been blown up to gigantic sculptures of steel, covered with a transparent chromatic coating. This finish gives the massive artworks a fragile and light appearance. Using the recognizable form of&nbsp;a balloon twisted into the shape of an animal, Koons has&nbsp;frozen a moment in time, exaggerating both scale and&nbsp;material.

For the Balloon Animals Collectors Set, Koons has partnered with the high-end French porcelain manufacture Bernardaud engineering his famous balloon animals. These are a collection of&nbsp;shapes, each segment alone does not look like part of&nbsp;an animal’s anatomy — in fact Koons often references human&nbsp;sexual anatomy.

Working with seductive materials, such as the high chromium stainless steel of his Balloon Animals sculptures, Koons turns banal objects into high art icons. His paintings and sculptures borrow widely from art-historical techniques and styles; although often seen as ironic or tongue-in-cheek, Koons insists his practice is earnest and optimistic.

This set of Jeff Koons´ Balloon Animals II includes the newest limited editions made of highly reflective porcelain, covering the remaining canonic Koons colors. Incorporating the vocabulary of his iconic Celebration sculptures, Balloon Rabbit, Balloon Monkey and Balloon Swan marked a spectacular new chapter in Jeff Koons’s oeuvre.

Jeff Koons has been interested in cultural subject matter with widespread appeal throughout his career. It is, therefore, fitting that the rabbit, the monkey and the swan have been recurring motifs in his body of work. These subjects have captured artist’s fascination throughout history, serving as allegorical figures for universal themes such as the pursuit of pleasure, sexuality and innocence. Koons merges these typically contradictory concepts through the reduction of the subjects to their most essential forms.
